K Collies. Collies have been a part of the family for Gerald and Nancy
Hvinden since 1993, when the first baby collie came to live on the 5 acre
hobby farm carefully situated next to the Red River. As Collies are like potato
chips, one was not enough. Now there are Collies in a variety of colors that
have titles before and after their names, most have both, living in luxury at
Country Kennels. A few are Versatility Companions registered with the
American Working Collies Association, also doing Therapy visits under
Therapy Dogs Incorporated. As proud members of the Collie Club of
America, the American Kennel Club, the Canadian Kennel Club, the Grand
Forks Kennel Club, Red River Dog Obedience Club , most of the dogs are
trained in Obedience, Agility , tested for Herding Instinct, and Conformation .
All of the dogs are registered with the AKC, and some CKC. We have met
the requirements to be officially recognized as BREEDER OF MERIT by the
American Kennel Club.
